Genital piercing requires a lot of commitment and dedication to care for your new piercing to prevent infection. This requires sacrifices, including sexual limitations, which you have to determine whether or not they are worth it.

Labia piercing are to the female the equivalent of foreskin piercing to men. For many modern women, Labia piercing are done to enhance erotic feelings, not to restrict intercourse.

• Labia Minora (Inner lips) are the hairless, wrinkled, often darkly pigmented lobes of skin, which fringe the vagina. They are the most popular sites for female genitalia piercing because they are very thin, relatively easy to pierce and they heal quickly.

  Simpler and less painful than the outer labia piercing, the inner labia piercing is very popular for its aesthetic value as well as the physical stimulation. Labia piercings are simple and quick-healing, which makes multiple piercings along the inner labia very popular as well.

  The skin tissue of the inner labia are easy to stretch, and there is less chance of the jewelry being rejected and migrating out of skin. It also allows for decorative additions such as weights, which the skin can easily withstand.

• Labia Majora (Outer lips) form the exterior of the vulva. They can be pierced anywhere along their length, although a piercing placed nearer to the back of the opening can cause discomfort while sitting. Outer Labia's are thicker than the inner Labia and may take longer to heal.

• Vertical Clitoral Hood Piercing
  The vertical hood piercing is the easiest, least painful, most stimulating, and quickest healing female genital piercing there is. Almost all women are physically and anatomically suited for this piercing, it is very attractive, and it provides the best direct stimulation to the clitoris without penetrating it.

  The jewelry is inserted into the hood tissue just above the clitoris. The jewelry rests easily on the clitoris, and because it runs parallel with the natural contour of the woman's shape, it yields to the natural movements with little or no twisting or binding.

Weight on inner labia piercings can feel good, and may also help pull your clit out from under your hood. Clit piercing (Clitoral hood) is a great choice if you want lots of sensation with relatively little pain involved.

As with any piercing, your new genital piercing may bleed off and on for minutes to a few days, though many of them don't bleed at all. Underwear is usually very comfortable, as a little support feels good on most fresh piercings. Panty liners may be advisable at first.
